The Vietnam Business Association in Sweden accompanies domestic enterprises to promote the consumption of Vietnamese goods in the Nordic area

The Trade Promotion Agency (Ministry of Industry and Trade) in collaboration with the Vietnam Trade Office in Sweden (concurrently Norway, Denmark, Iceland, and Latvia) organized a trade delegation in Sweden and Norway from June 6. August 16, 2022. Here, one of the key activities is to connect domestic enterprises with import and distribution enterprises on your side.

The Vietnam Business Association in Sweden was officially launched in November 2021, serving as a bridge and support for Vietnamese businesses to access the Swedish and Nordic markets. In just over 1 year of operation, the Association has coordinated with the Vietnam Trade Office in Sweden (concurrently Norway, Denmark, Iceland, and Latvia) to carry out many activities to support the sale of Vietnamese goods to regional markets in this area.

Specifically, at the beginning of August, the Association and several member enterprises welcomed and worked with trade delegations in Sweden and Northway, under the national program on trade promotion in 2022

On August 9, the delegation visited and worked with Madam Hong Import Export and CT Food branch in Stockholm. Madam Hong is an enterprise specializing in importing Asian food products. This is one of the enterprises that import a variety of Vietnamese products, especially rice. Madam Hong imports Vietnamese rice the most in Sweden and exclusively distributes Vietnam’s Lotus rice brand in this market. This is also the only Vietnamese rice brand that retains its name in Sweden. Madam Hong is also a wholesaler with many Madam Hong branded items.

CT Food is the leading importer and distributor of Asian products in Sweden, with a wide range of high-end foods of famous brands. With over 30 years of experience, CT Food has a wholesale warehouse system in both Stockholm and Malmo, two major Swedish cities. In 2021, CT Food was awarded the title of Typical Swedish Enterprise. CT Food imports and redistributes to many major supermarket chains in Sweden.

However, this enterprise does not currently import many Vietnamese goods, mainly importing Thai products. With recent trade activities, this business has known more Vietnamese goods and businesses and is promoting the import of Vietnamese goods.

Right after that, on August 10, the delegation had a meeting with the Executive Board of the Vietnam Business Association in Sweden in Malmo city to discuss cooperation opportunities, promote exports and attract investment. about Vietnam.

Mr. Diep Van Ty, Chairman of the Vietnam Business Association in Sweden, directly led the delegation to visit the East Asian Food AB warehouse owned by him and discussed with businesses in the delegation import standards and conditions. Importing into this market as well as what businesses need to pay attention to. East Asia is also one of Sweden’s major Asian importers and distributes in the Nordic region. This is also the most diversified and abundant Vietnamese importer in Sweden.

The delegation also visited A Chau Lien Import and Export enterprise in the port city of Helsingborg. A Chau Lien was established in 1981, specializing in importing and distributing Asian goods. This is one of the enterprises that import Vietnamese goods the most in Sweden with a wide range of goods. This business imports both Thai and Vietnamese rice, in which Vietnamese Jasmine rice is distributed under its own brand Twin Dragons.

Vietnam’s Japonica rice was first imported and distributed in Sweden by this company and also packaged under its brand, Makoto.

At the meeting, the business also organized for the delegation to taste Vietnamese products. Many Vietnamese products are appreciated more than Thai products such as fresh coconut water, durian, jackfruit, frozen longan, etc.

To promote the export of Vietnamese goods to the Nordic market through local businesses, Mr. Vu Ba Phu – Director of the Trade Promotion Department – Ministry of Industry and Trade invited the association and its members to Vietnam to attend. Food expo 2022, Vietnam’s largest food fair, will be held from November 16 to 19, 2022 in Ho Chi Minh City. Mr. Phu hopes that this will be an opportunity for Swedish businesses to learn and expand their business lines with Vietnam.
