VGEA Eyes Big-Data Boost for Chinese-Backed Melamine Paper & Furniture Plant

Vietnam, 7 July 2025 — A Vietnam Global E-commerce Association (VGEA) delegation toured a Chinese-invested Melamine paper and furniture factory this week, mapping out a data-driven plan to sharpen the plant’s reach in Vietnam and neighboring markets.

Factory walk-through & strategy talks

  • End-to-end tour: Managers guided VGEA through the full Melamine paper line—an essential surface material for premium interiors—and the adjoining assembly floor for finished furniture.
  • Market pulse: Both sides compared sales trends for Melamine products in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.
  • Digital supply chain: Discussion centered on turning e-commerce channels into just-in-time pipelines that cut order-to-delivery cycles.
  • Tech roadmap: Big-data tools for demand forecasting and customer-behavior analysis topped the agenda.

VGEA’s data pledge

VGEA committed to help the plant:

  1. Capture & crunch market data on interior‐design and construction buyers.
  2. Link into major B2B platforms and domestic marketplaces for smoother deal flow.
  3. Run targeted campaigns that speak directly to dealers, contractors, and project developers.

“With solid data we can pinpoint real demand, lift sales efficiency, and scale exports,”
Trần Minh Tuấn, VGEA secretary-general, told plant executives.

Forward path

The partners will draft a big-data rollout plan by September, beginning with dashboard analytics for Vietnam’s top five furniture hubs. Pilot e-commerce storefronts are slated to go live before Lunar New Year 2026, positioning the factory—and its Vietnamese suppliers—for wider regional play.

The visit underscores VGEA’s push to fuse digital tools with manufacturing, reinforcing Vietnam’s role as a smart link between Chinese capital and Southeast Asian demand.
