At Connect 004, Vietnam’s Global E-Commerce Association Unveils Ambitious Plan to Export Design Services to U.S. Market

At the Connect 004 event, the Vietnam Global E-Commerce Association (VGECA) presented a high-potential initiative aimed at helping Vietnamese architecture and design firms export their services to the United States—a market valued at an estimated $70 to $124 billion annually.

The proposal targets the growing demand in the U.S. for outsourced architectural and construction design services, especially as American firms seek cost-effective, high-quality solutions. With a skilled design workforce and increasing digital capability, Vietnam is well-positioned to become a competitive global hub for architectural outsourcing.

Representatives from VGECA highlighted this as a major opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to move up the global value chain—not just as product suppliers, but as service providers in a high-margin, knowledge-based sector.

“This is a golden moment for Vietnamese firms to tap into the global design economy,” said a VGECA spokesperson. “The U.S. market is vast, and our companies have the talent and tools to deliver world-class work at scale.”

The Association plans to support this initiative through digital platforms, B2B matchmaking, and strategic partnerships with U.S.-based developers and firms. The move is part of a broader strategy to globalize Vietnam’s service sector and diversify its export portfolio.
